Once both devices are turned on, if your computer recognizes the scanner, you should download any required drivers by following the on-screen instructions and skipping the rest of this procedure.

3. Press the settings button. On the left side of your screen, you'll see this gear icon.

4. Choose Devices. This is shown by a symbol in the second column that resembles a speaker and a keyboard.

5. Click Printers & Scanners. This will appear in the vertical menu on the left side of the window, along with a list of accessible scanners.

6. Add a printer or scanner by clicking. This is visible at the top of the window.

7. Click Add device after selecting the name of your scanner. The scanner you want to add will probably appear in the list with the name of the manufacturer, the model name, and/or the model number.

For your computer to recognize your scanner, both devices must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. It's possible that connecting won't work if either device has Wi-Fi extenders installed.

Some scanners, particularly those that connect wirelessly through Bluetooth, demand that you first put them in pairing or discovery mode. By pushing the scanner's Bluetooth button, you can accomplish this. For further details, consult the instruction booklet that was included.
